Hammerson has announced a debut for new children’s leisure concept, Fun Street, launching at Silverburn, Glasgow’s leading retail and leisure destination. The new 12,000 sq ft site is due to open in Summer 2019.
Adjacent to the Cineworld and new entrant PureGym, the new children’s play concept for ages 0–12 will include an indoor play area with soft play structures, innovative play equipment, party rooms, a café, and a playground space which will be unlike anything currently on offer for families in Glasgow.
Fun Street is the latest leisure addition for Silverburn, following PureGym opening a 11,300 sq ft gym this summer joining Glasgow’s first 14-screen Cineworld cinema. British coffee shop chain, Costa, also fully refurbished its café and sits alongside a strong restaurant line up to complement the leisure offer including Tortilla, Thaikhun, Five Guys and Nando’s.
Iain Mitchell, UK Commercial Director at Hammerson commented: “Fun Street is an exciting new brand for Silverburn, and one of the largest of its kind in Glasgow. These recent signings, openings and refurbishments are prime examples of brands investing in the centre, and is a key part of Hammerson’s long term strategy to create a complementary leisure offer at the centre.”
Dr Usman Qureshi, CEO of Fun Street, added: “To launch this new venture at Silverburn is a fantastic opportunity. The centre’s premium leisure offer is a huge draw, and we are proud to further enhance this by offering something for all the family, completing the customers shopping experience. We look forward to welcoming families from both near and far, to experience our innovative activities that will keep everyone entertained.”
Anchored by Debenhams and Marks and Spencer, Silverburn is home to over 120 retailers, including H&M, River Island, Flannels and a regional flagship store for JD Sports.
