Charity Partnerships

Hammerson is committed to supporting communities local to our assets and offices; with charity partnerships fundamental to this commitment.

Our destinations take an asset-centric approach to their charitable activity and focus on organisations addressing specific local needs and making a tangible impact in their communities. Our corporate approach is to support organisations both making a difference to the local community around our Head Office, and charities working to affect national change and improve the lives of people across the UK, France and Ireland.

On this page, you will learn more about how we partner and collaborate with charities.

UK Corporate Charity Partners

Our current Corporate Charity Partners are LandAid and Smart Works.

LandAid is the property industry charity working to end youth homelessness in the UK. LandAid brings together businesses and individuals from across the industry to support charities delivering life-changing projects for young people who are or have been homeless, or who are at risk of homelessness.

Smart Works helps unemployed women to get the coaching, clothing and confidence they need to secure employment and change the trajectory of their lives.

In addition to a cash donation, we work with our charity partners to identify opportunities to maximise the partnership, developing a strong relationship between the charity and our employees.

Charity Bursaries

Our destinations are dedicated to ensuring local communities benefit from their presence and feel warmly welcomed into each destination.

Each of our destinations are allocated an annual bursary to support a local charity of their choice. Recipients must be registered charities with a strong presence within the local community adjacent to our assets. Further information relating to current bursary partners can be found on our destinations’ websites.

The work our destination colleagues do to enrich their local communities goes above and beyond support provided to bursary partners. Destination staff work with local schools to provide work experience and careers education opportunities to young people, celebrate diverse talent by showcasing the work of local artists and participate in Purple Tuesday every year to help improve the customer experience for disabled people and their families.

Employee Match Funding

Hammerson is committed to supporting our employees making a positive difference to our communities through charitable fundraising. Hammerson provides match funding of up to £250 or €250 per employee’s fundraiser for their chosen charity. This has resulted in thousands being raised for diverse causes important to our colleagues, generating a positive impact across the communities we serve and beyond.
