We seek to create value for all our stakeholders, connect our communities and deliver a positive impact for generations to come.
Our 11 flagship destinations are integral to the social and economic fabric of their communities. They are part of social infrastructure, and this sets them far apart from underinvested retail venues that do not possess the scale or inherent brand value of our landmark destinations.
They all rank in the top 20 of all retail venues across our geographies and in the top 1% where retail spend is concentrated. Our catchment reach of over 45 million people attracts 215 million visitors per year, generating in excess of £3 billion in sales for our brand partners.

Foundations for growth
For more than 80 years, Hammerson has been shaping how people come together in cities.
Founded in 1942, we have evolved alongside the communities we serve. We have pioneered some of the UK’s most iconic retail destinations and built a focused portfolio of prime, retail-led assets in Europe’s leading urban locations.
Over time, our business has adapted to changing customer behaviours and market dynamics. What began as a property-led model has transformed into a platform centred on creating vibrant, experience-led destinations where retail, leisure and community uses come together.
This evolution underpins who we are today: a specialist owner, operator and investor with the expertise, insight and agility to curate places people choose to spend time. Our track record of repositioning assets, strengthening brand partnerships and investing in our locations continues to drive sustainable growth and long-term value.
Our portfolio
We manage and invest in a unique £4.8bn portfolio of growing landmark destinations, 99% of which by value are ‘A’ rated by Green Street.
They address strong long term structural themes, notably around the growth and resilience of major cities and catchments, the models now adopted by leading retailers, and the polarisation between prime destinations and ‘the rest’.
