Hammerson is pleased to announce the signing of four more exciting new brands at Cabot Circus, as it continues to invest and reposition its Bristol city centre destination.
The signing of Stradivarius, Lids, Sunnamusk and German Doner Kebab further supports Hammerson’s commitment to enhancing its city centre portfolio by targeting popular brands and concepts alongside exciting entertainment and social offers, that engage and excite new audiences in different ways.
The successful repositioning of Hammerson’s core city centre assets includes Bullring & Grand Central in Birmingham which has introduced flagships brands such as Nike, Pull&Bear and Bershka alongside virtual reality gaming concepts and new dining offers. The thriving, multi-use destination consistently generates new reasons for customers to visit beyond retail and has already seen footfall increase 6 percent in 2023 (vs. 2022).
Cabot Circus follows Hammerson’s proven formula for success as it continues to build on its offer by reimagining its space, enhancing their appeal, and driving demand from new occupiers. This includes:
- Creating an award-winning pop-up Skatepark, by repurposing under utilised car park space. In turn, attracting over 2,000 people in just 7 days.
- Best of Bristol: Transforming a former restaurant into a new cultural space to host a one-off gig with DJ Roni Size and Massive Attack’s Daddy G, raising £20k for charity.
- Introducing art and culture – Working in partnership with animation studio and Wallace & Gromit creators, Aardman, to create a new mural celebrating Bristol’s rich heritage. Unveiled to international acclaim, the mural was endorsed by, and featured on both the BBC and ITV.
- Reflecting Bristol’s focus on sustainability and following its success at Brent Cross, London; Hammerson introduced Charity Super.Mkt to Bristol, the UK’s first ever multi-charity retail store. Originally set to be a six-week pop-up, the store extended its run twice due to strong demand and has raised over £275k for charity since it opened in July.
Flight to quality
Stradivarius, one of Europe’s trendiest womenswear brands will join Inditex brands Zara, Pull&Bear and Bershka, bolstering Cabot Circus’ leading fashion offering. The brand is set to launch its latest collection of statement fashion and will occupy a prime unit on Concorde Street at the city centre destination.
In a portfolio-first for Hammerson, athleisure headwear brand, Lids, known for its NBA, NFL and MLB branded baseball caps, snapbacks and merchandise will tap into the growing demand for American-influenced sportswear amongst Bristol’s young demographic with a new 600 sq ft store.
Having supported the brand across Hammerson’s destinations for several years, Sunnamusk will open an exciting new Bristol city centre store as it continues its European wide expansion. The family-founded British perfumery company takes inspiration from the elegant and exotic scents of Arabia.
German Doner Kebab, the world’s fastest growing kebab brand, will open its doors on Glasswalk at Cabot Circus, diversifying the food and restaurant offer at the destination. The quick service kebab restaurant recently launched a new doner breakfast menu, the first of its kind in the UK.
Toby Tait, Director of Asset Management at Hammerson, commented: “These new signings further demonstrate the success of our strategic focus to reposition Cabot Circus. Expanding our occupier mix, bringing in new, exciting brands alongside introducing social and entertainment partners.”
Shelley Taylor, Asset Manager added: “Being a Bristolian through and through I have grown up with Cabot Circus. I am excited to be part of its transformation which has seen us really amplify the art and culture of Bristol. Highlights for me have been working with Aardman to create the incredible mural and welcoming the Canvas and Red Bull Skate Park over the half term. Both offering fellow Bristolians something new and different in the heart of the city!”
