Between 2 – 6 September, 22 Hammerson colleagues will be cycling from its offices in Kings Cross, London to Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin.

This follows the 2014 venture when a team of Hammerson UK and French colleagues cycled from its Paris office to Terrasses du Port, Marseille raising money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital and in aid of causes close to colleagues.

This year the team will be raising money for two very worthwhile causes; Action Against Hunger and the Ross Nugent Foundation

The 600km ride will see the team climb over 18,000ft as part of the challenge. The route passes through some of the UK’s most prominent landmarks including Windsor Castle, across the old Severn Bridge, through the Welsh Valleys with the Brecon Beacons as a backdrop before arriving at Fishguard in Pembrokeshire to cross St George’s Channel via ferry. The final day will see the team summit the highest point of the trip as they cross Liffey Head Bridge before reaching Dundrum.

Ross Nugent Foundation

The Ross Nugent Foundation was set up in memory of Ross Nugent and his battle with a rare form of cancer called Ewings Sarcoma. It was Ross’s wish that funds should be raised to buy equipment for St. Clare’s Oncology Ward in Beaumont Hospital in Dublin. He wanted to make life easier and more comfortable for the patients, visiting relations and nursing staff.

Action Against Hunger

Over 52 million children every year are at risk of becoming severely malnourished, denying them the future they deserve.  Action Against Hunger is working to ensure that these children can grow up strong and healthy, enabling them and their families to access food, clean water, training and healthcare.
