Hammerson is pleased to announce that King Pins Bowl, Six by Nico and Honi Poke will open their doors in Cabot Circus, as it continues to reposition its Bristol city centre destination by introducing new leisure and entertainment uses, high profile brands and regional firsts.

The addition of King Pins Bowl, which will open a new 16,500 sq ft space in late 2024, will diversify the occupier mix and introduce a new family friendly concept to Cabot Circus. A regional first, King Pin Bowl is more than just a boutique bowling brand and its opening will be a significant addition to the late-night economy in Cabot Circus, adding classic arcade games, pool tables and dart boards, alongside a contemporary bar and food offer.

The award-winning restaurant concept, Six by Nico, will also open a new 3,200 sq ft restaurant in Cabot Circus’ historical Quakers Friars in early 2025. The opening follows huge demand from Bristolians who currently have to travel to Cardiff to experience this gastronomical sensation. Six by Nico has tingled taste buds up and down the country with its six course menus which change every six weeks.

London-based poke bowl favourite, Honi Poke, has also signed a new 2,200 sq ft restaurant. This will be the brand’s third site and first outside of the capital. The restaurant will cater to the growing number of people looking for a healthy, grab-and-go dining option in Bristol. Its menu includes nourishing poke bowls, sushi boxes, ‘pokerittos’ and bubble tea.

The introduction of a new bowling concept and fine dining restaurant represents a significant investment to improve the customer experience and merchandising at Cabot Circus. It follows the recent announcement that Hammerson is bringing M&S back to Bristol city centre with an 80,000 sq ft flagship store at Cabot Circus and the other recent high-profile openings and signings including Inditex-owned Stradivarius, Treetop Golf and athleisure headwear brand, Lids. Last year H&M opened the first ever H&M Home in Bristol, a regional first.

Shelley Taylor, Asset Manager at Hammerson said: “Our vision is to transform our assets from places where customers come only to shop to multi-purpose destinations which offer an exciting mix of entertainment, social and cultural uses complemented by high-quality retail, entertainment and restaurant brands.

“The process is ongoing in Cabot Circus, but King Pins Bowl, Six by Nico and Honi Poke are important signings in the repositioning of the city-centre destination and demonstrates the agility with which we are repurposing prime space. As we continue to strengthen our leisure and entertainment offer in Cabot Circus, these deals give us real momentum going into the second half of the year. There is a lot more to come.”

The leasing strategy at Cabot Circus also incorporates successful art programming and cultural partnerships, building upon the key brand partnerships and leasing deals currently being delivered and in the pipeline. The destination has been announced as one of only nine nationwide Official Team GB and Paralympics GB Fanzones, with live broadcasts during the Paris Games and appearances by Team GB athletes. Upcoming activations also include art festival, Lumosphere, and the return of the award-winning pop-up skatepark.
