Hammerson and Standard Life Investments announce that they have secured international footwear brand, Vans, to join the leading retail mix at Brent Cross, North London’s iconic retail destination.
Due to open in the spring, its new 2,140 sq ft store will be located in the upper mall of the centre, joining a host of international fashion retailers including Levi’s and Dune.
Founded in 1966 in Southern California, the Vans brand promotes the action sports lifestyle, youth culture and creative self-expression through the support of athletes, musicians and artists and through progressive events and platforms such as the Vans Park Series, Vans Custom Culture, Vans Shop Riot and Vans’ cultural hub and international music venue, House of Vans.
One of the UK’s most iconic shopping centres, Brent Cross has a long history in attracting the best retail mix and today remains a key location for retailers. The centre has seen an impressive number of exclusive store openings, including worldwide, European and UK firsts. Apple debuted its new format store in the UK at Brent Cross.
Iain Mitchell, UK Commercial Director commented: “Vans is a fantastic new brand to welcome into Brent Cross and will sit well alongside the centre’s strong retail line-up. With its loyal shopper base and consistently high levels of footfall, Brent Cross continues to be a firm favourite for occupiers looking to expand their physical presence in a prime location.
Ed Jenkins, Head of UK Retail at Standard Life Investments, added, “This letting is a good example of how innovative retailers, such as Vans, continue to seek out shopping centres that they feel echo their own brand ethos.”
