Hammerson and Westfield , “The Croydon Partnership”, will redevelop and combine the two main Croydon shopping centres, the Whitgift Centre and Centrale, to deliver a comprehensive and transformational change to Croydon.
The mixed use scheme of around 200,000 sq m will include retail, leisure, residential with the potential for hotels and offices and will create over 5,000 new jobs.
CPO is confirmed and outline planning application for the updated redevelopment proposal was submitted in October 2016.
Resolution to grant outline planning consent for the proposal was approved by Croydon Council in November 2017.
Revisions include a new M&S anchor store and an improved design of the scheme’s northern end.
