Hammerson is pleased to announce that H&M’s brand new store at Cyfarthfa Retail Park in Merthyr Tydfil will open its doors on 29th September 2016.
H&M’s 1,618m2 store will offer shoppers great quality, fashion-forward, Ladieswear, Menswear, Divided and Kidswear collections. Founded in Sweden in 1947, H&M opened its first UK store in 1976. Forty years later, the UK and Ireland portfolio has grown to include in excess of 260 stores and is an internationally recognised fashion brand.
Having completed Cyfarthfa’s 14,500 m2 extension in August 2015, Hammerson has welcomed a new mix of retail brands to the park, repositioning it as the premier shopping fashion destination in the South Wales Valleys. Cyfarthfa is anchored by a full-line Marks & Spencer store, featuring its Limited Edition, Per Una and North Coast ranges as well as a 743 m2 Foodhall and a 94-seat M&S Café. The extension also includes River Island’s debut store in the town, B&Q’s first Eco-learning store as well as an upsized Next that has allowed the retailer to expand into a significantly larger unit to offer its full homeware and fashion ranges.
Andrew Berger-North, Director of UK Retail Parks at Hammerson, commented: “We are pleased to welcome H&M’s debut store to Cyfarthfa. One of the UK’s most popular fashion brands, it is a great addition to the scheme and is well placed to benefit from Merthyr Tydfil’s growing role as a key retail destination.”
H&M’s Country Manager Carlos Duarte added: “We are delighted to be opening in the town of Merthyr Tydfil, making Cyfarthfa the seventh store in our Welsh portfolio. After the success of our St. David’s Centre store in Cardiff, opening in Cyfarthfa Retail Park offers us a very exciting opportunity to expand our brand. H&M offers great quality fashion for all customers, no matter their age, budget or personal style.”
