Hammerson is transforming the retail line up at Highcross with over 30,000ft2 of new signings and store expansions over the coming months to further drive the centre’s sales performance.
Fashion and lifestyle brand Urban Outfitters is to open its second store in the East Midlands in a prime location fronting onto Leicester’s main High Street.
The 1,000m2 (10,800ft2) store will open this autumn and will carry the brand’s full ranges of womenswear, menswear and accessories. To create the opportunity for a flagship Urban Outfitters, USC has moved into a new 717m2 (7,610ft2) store neighbouring one of Highcross’s anchors, Debenhams on the upper floor of the main mall.
This is Urban Outfitters’ second store to open within a Hammerson centre, and marks Hammerson’s commitment to strengthening the tenant mix at Highcross, offering shoppers an ever evolving retail line up of fashion and lifestyle brands.
In addition to the recent signings, existing retailers TM Lewin and Lacoste have also upsized their stores, moving from St Peter’s Square, which is being transformed into Highcross’s restaurant quarter to prime positions within the centre.
Andrew Holme, Hammerson, retail asset manager said, “Our evolving fashion line up alongside our established anchors of John Lewis and Debenhams, provides retailers with a strong trading opportunity. Urban Outfitters is a great addition to the retail mix and is a successful brand which has been missing from the catchment’s retail experience.”
