Hammerson is pleased to announce that luxury British menswear brand, Hackett, will make its debut in Leeds when it opens a brand new flagship store at the £165 million Victoria Gate development next year.
The quintessentially British retailer will take a 303m2 (3,272 sq ft) store split across two floors. Marking its arrival in Leeds, the concept for its flagship store of the North will be similar to that of its Regent Street store in London. Providing customers with the ultimate in experiential retail the institutional British brand will look to recreate the sense of theatre in its store with a carefully crafted interior that brings a sense of all that it means to be British. In addition to its popular ready to wear luxury fashion range the store will include a bespoke tailoring service.
Hackett joins an already strong line-up of aspirational retail brands at Victoria Gate, including Anthropologie, Cos, & Other Stories, The White Company and Maje, complemented by fine dining from international restaurant group, D&D.
Following Victoria Gate’s launch next year, the new 53,400m2 (575, 000 sq ft) Victoria Estate which encompasses the adjacent Victoria Quarter, will transform the retail offer in Leeds as the scheme continues to attract aspirational retailers looking to expand outside the UK’s capital city, giving a number of them a presence in the region for the first time.
Robin Dobson, Director Retail Development at Hammerson, said: “Securing Hackett, the renowned luxury British retailer, and giving it its debut in Leeds, is testament to the unique retail environment we are creating at Victoria Gate. By providing a best in class trading platform for premium, aspirational retailers, we are enabling them to get a foothold in a city that is fast becoming a world class retail, dining and leisure destination.”
