Fresh Face for Flannels with debut Scottish store for Silverburn

Hammerson has today announced that leading luxury retailer, Flannels, will make its Scottish debut at Silverburn shopping centre, Glasgow, due to launch in the spring.

The 756 m2 unit at Silverburn will be the brand’s first store in Scotland. The new Flannels store will offer a range of luxury and premium designer men’s and women’s designer clothing, footwear and accessories.  In line with the Flannels aesthetic, the new store interior will be spacious and minimal, allowing each luxury brand to display its own identity.

Flannels were founded in Cheshire in 1976 and became renowned for introducing major UK and international designers to the North West for the first time.  The brand portfolio includes iconic designer brands such as Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Moncler and Jimmy Choo alongside premium brands including Stone Island, C.P. Company and Hugo Boss.  Alongside the established online offering, Flannels has grown rapidly with 13 stores across the UK, and a further five stores – not inclusive of the recent signing at Silverburn – due to open shortly, including a flagship in London.

Iain Mitchell, UK Commercial Director at Hammerson, commented: “This recent signing clearly reflects the increasing attraction for high-end brands, whilst firmly cementing Silverburn as the region’s number one retail and leisure destination.  Flannels has created a benchmark for luxury retail by providing sought after designers and fantastic customer service in a stylish setting, and we are thrilled to launch them at Silverburn in Scotland.”

A spokesperson for Flannels added: “With constant footfall and a strong reputation, Silverburn is the perfect place for our debut site in Scotland.  We are excited to share our collection of fantastic designer brands and continue our success across the UK.”

This news follows a strong fourth quarter in 2016 for Glasgow’s leading shopping destination.  In November, Silverburn welcomed a fantastic line-up of new retailers including British heritage inspired youth brand, Jack Wills, beauty retailer, Kiko Milano and iconic denim brand, Levi’s®.
