Caring culture

To keep you motivated and inspired, we communicate openly and honestly. Our management leads with integrity and compassion, and we always listen to what people have to say.

Employee engagement and well-being is an important focus for us, and our internal policies are designed to support you and your family at all times.

We have a strong sense of purpose and are market leader when it comes to responsibility.

Creating a ‘One Hammerson’ culture

We realise that life goes beyond your job description and you need to feel your best to do your best.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve worked even harder to keep colleagues connected and to support their wellbeing.

We now communicate more frequently and during remote working in 2020, our leadership and senior colleagues sent an update every day for the first 125 days of lockdown. Our communications have become more informal, and our teams have loved quick video updates and opportunities to get to know their colleagues better.

We’ve also become more innovative. We’ve hosted Positivi-TEA roulette sessions where colleagues can meet for a virtual chat; celebrated colleague wins; asked colleagues to walk and cycle to raise money for our employee charity partner, The Outward Bound Trust; welcomed external speakers to remote Diversity & Inclusion sessions; held yoga classes; posted recipes; shared Spotify playlists and so much more.

As we move forward, we know that staying connected remains a crucial part of who we are.
